# Privacy Policy for Wizeup

## 1. Introduction 
Welcome to Wizeup, an educational mobile application owned and operated by Wizeup Technologies ("we," "us," or "our"). 
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and other applicable privacy regulations. 
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data when you use the Wizeup Android application available on Google Play. 

## 2. Information We Collect 
We collect data to provide, improve, and personalize your experience.  The categories of data we collect include: 

### Account & Identity Data
Name, email address, and username. 

### Educational & Preference Data
Selected subjects for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, target exam year, study preferences, and any changes you make to your subject combinations. 

### App Activity & Performance Data
Questions attempted, scores, accuracy rates, time spent per question, accumulated XP points, and streak information. 

### Subscription & Transaction Data
Purchase status, transaction IDs, and subscription expiry dates. 
Note: We do not process or store your credit, debit card, or bank account information. 
All payments are securely processed by Google Play. 

### Automatically Collected Technical Data
Device model, operating system version, app usage logs, crash reports, and IP address. 

## 3. Legal Basis and Purpose for Data Collection 
We collect and process your data based on the following legal grounds and for the following purposes: 

### Performance of a Contract
To create your account, provide access to study materials, track your progress, and manage your Pro access pass. 

### Legitimate Interest
To analyze app performance, fix technical crashes, and improve our educational content using technical and activity data. 

### Consent
To serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements to free-tier users via third-party ad networks. 

## 4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing 
We do not sell your personal data.  We share information only with trusted third-party service providers necessary to operate our application: 

### Google Play Billing
Used to process payments for the 30-day Pro access pass. 
Google Play handles your financial data independently. 

### Google Analytics
Used to track technical data, app usage, and crash reports to help us improve app stability and user experience. 

### Google AdMob
Used to display advertisements to users on the free tier. 
AdMob may collect and use your device ID and IP address to serve relevant ads. 
Pro users are exempt from these advertisements. 

## 5. Data Retention 
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the Wizeup services. 
If you delete your account, we will delete your Account, Identity, and Educational data within 30 days. 
We may retain certain Transaction or Technical Data in an anonymized format for legal compliance and internal analytics. 

## 6. Your Data Privacy Rights 
Under the NDPA, you possess the following rights regarding your personal data: 

* Right to Access: You may request a copy of the data we hold about you. 
* Right to Rectification: You may correct inaccurate or incomplete data via your account settings. 
* Right to Erasure: You may request the deletion of your account and associated personal data. 
* Right to Restrict Processing: You may opt out of certain data processing activities, such as targeted advertising, through your device settings.

## 7. Children’s Privacy 
Wizeup is strictly intended for users who are at least 16 years of age. 
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.  If we become aware that a user under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will immediately terminate the account and delete the associated data. 

## 8. Data Security 
We implement industry-standard organizational and technical security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. 
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. 

## 9. Changes to this Privacy Policy 
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.  We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. 
Continued use of the app after modifications constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy.
